  • This is the power unit for a unisystem. They had several implements that mounted on the unit. They were built by Minneapolis Moline and New Idea. Not sure of years they were built but was an innovation that didn't last.

  • Looks good. Appears to be an overhead valve engine. Any implements for it?

  • Just read other comments. MM built the L from 1951 - 1960. In 1960, they replaced it with an improved version. Inline 4 cyl engine (4 Star) dual steering wheels, and more. About 8,000 Ls produced, just under 2,000 of the "Brown Mules" so about 10,000 in a 12 year period. MM sold the Uni line to AVCO New Idea in late 1963. New Idea continued the Uni Line until about 1992. In the end, the concept and production lasted a good 40 years. Not to bad a run I would say.

  • Though known for tractors Moline had inovations far ahead of it't time. We had a Moline disk and swather that were built to last.

  • Had an LD picker-sheller but it was too far gone to restore. Engine is a 206B-4. it is an over head valve engine.
